Exos M är Seagates nya diskfamilj byggd på Mozaic 3+ teknik vilket ger över 3TB per diskplatta. HAMR (Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording) värmer plattan med laser innan skrvning vilket gör att man kan laga ännu tätare än tidigare.

28 & 30TB modellerna har traditionell CMR (Conventional Magnetic Recording) teknik, de kommande 32 & 36TB modellerna har SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording) vilket gör skrivningar långsamma då ett stort block måste läsas och skrivas om ifall bara en enda sektor behöver uppdateras. Dessa lämpar sig bäst för arkivering där man skriver en gång och har ett filsystem avsett för SMR.
